Event Recognizes Outstanding Achievements in Public Relations and Communications
Public relations and communications industry professionals convened this past week at the Zimmerli Art Museum on the campus of Rutgers University to celebrate the Pyramid Awards, an annual recognition event organized by the Public Relations Society of America, New Jersey Chapter. This was the 35th annual event organized by PRSA NJ, which is affiliated with the national PRSA organization and has members throughout the state.
The evening’s “Best in Show” honors went to Deirdre Lopian Public Relations, LLC (DLPR). DLPR worked last year with Integrated Care Concepts and Consultation to plan the organization’s inaugural Integrated Mental Health Conference at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft. DLPR took home a Pyramid Award and earned the judging panel’s overall highest score (pictured).
Other Pyramid Award winners were Coyne PR, which garnered awards for programs for Claritin, Pacira, and Orangetheory Fitness; Violet PR, which won awards for its work with Greater Topeka Partnership, the Oklahoma Department of Commerce, and the Kansas City Area Development Council; RoseComm for I Support the Girls; and Maple & Monroe for its rebranding of Self Care Sunday, a Mental Health Action Day event. Honorable mentions were also awarded, in categories that included Corporate Social Responsibility, Content Development, Diversity and Inclusion, Media Relations, and Public Affairs.
Honorable Mentions were also given out to Rutgers Graduate School of Education, The JPR Group LLC, Violet PR, New Jersey American Water, Coyne PR, BML Public Relations, Lincoln Technical Institute, R&J Strategic Communications, and Acenda Integrated Health, for a variety of cross-platform campaigns.
The event’s venue sponsor was Rutgers School of Communication and Information, and award ceremony participants enjoyed wine and Hors d’oeuvres as they perused the museum’s diverse array of art exhibits. MikeWorldWide, Monmouth University, and Coyne PR were also sponsors of the event.
“On behalf of the PRSA NJ board and all our members, I extend my sincere congratulations to our Pyramid Award winners,” said Chapter President Stephanie K. Reed. “Their outstanding entries are among countless examples of exceptional work performed by top public relations and communications practitioners throughout the Garden State.”
