Thank you to our Sponsor: Goodman Media International

Date: Tuesday, November 15, 2022

Time:  8:30 a.m.-10:30 a.m.

  • 8:30-9:00: Breakfast and networking
  • 9:00-10:00: Meet the Media Panel
  • 10:00-10:30: Story idea “speed pitching” and networking with panelists

Location: Rutgers University, Cook Student Center, Multipurpose Room, 59 Biel Road, New Brunswick

Meet The Media will include an interactive Q&A panel with several reporters, editors, and other journalists where we will explore:

  • Challenges the media has in this era of sensitivity to points of view, coverage decisions, and shrinking newsroom bandwidth
  • How journalists are selecting what news they’ll cover and current challenges in the newsroom
  • How members of the press spend their time in story development, and what they really need from PR pros to do this work
  • How PR people can truly break through the clutter, meaningfully connect, and help the press create coverage that works

A fast-paced “speed pitching” section with the panelists and audience members will immediately follow the panel.  During this, attendees will have the opportunity to pitch their story idea one-on-one in 60 seconds or less and get immediate feedback from individual panelists on its worthiness for them, if appropriate for others at their outlet, tips on improving it when approaching other press, or just say hi and exchange business cards.
