Stephanie K. Reed, Rutgers University
Stephanie K. Reed, who is the communications director for University Finance and Administration at Rutgers University, will serve as chair of the Diversity and Inclusion Committee and co-chair of the Programming Committee, which oversees several of the chapter’s popular initiatives, such as Senior Pros, Young Pros, and the Pyramid Awards.
In her role at Rutgers University, Reed leads a team that is responsible for strategic internal, external, and digital communications that advance the division’s core purpose of financial stewardship and cultivate a values-based culture for its staff.
As the principal of Reed Consulting, she successfully delivered public relations and internal communications programs for international and U.S. clients in the areas of research and development clinical operations, sustainability, health literacy, organizational change management, and corporate reputation. Prior to starting an accomplished consulting business, Reed held roles in learning and development with Gap, Inc., and corporate social responsibility and pharmaceutical communications with Johnson & Johnson.
Reed previously served as vice president of the Warren Township Education Foundation, and she was a member of the Warren Township Board of Education’s Strategic Planning Committee. She held the position of public relations committee chair for the Jaguar Track Club and public relations/sportswriter for the Watchung Hills Pop Warner Football club. She continues to volunteer with Jersey Cares in northern and central New Jersey.
Stephanie holds a Master of Arts degree in communication and a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Rutgers University.
Shana Walther, Coyne PR
Shana Walther, who is senior director at Coyne PR, will help produce the organization’s newsletter on the Communications Committee and the upcoming Pyramid Awards on the Programming Committee, as well as work on the nonprofit’s website initiative.
As the senior director of marketing and new business at Coyne PR, Walther works directly with the executive leadership of the agency on all facets of new business development and agency marketing. Walther develops and manages all external marketing materials for the agency including website development, direct mail campaigns, advertising campaigns, and promotional materials. In addition, she leads external public relations efforts on behalf of the agency and spearheads agency-wide industry award submissions. In collaboration with the senior leadership of Coyne PR, Walther spearheads all new business efforts and thought leadership content.
Walther joined Coyne PR as an intern in 2007 while a student at Seton Hall University. She graduated in 2008 with her Bachelor of Arts in Communications with a concentration in Public Relations/Journalism, and a minor in Advertising Art & Design. Prior to graduating in 2008, Walther was named PRSA NJ’s Future PR Professional of the Year, which is given annually to an undergraduate student who demonstrates a sophisticated understanding and commitment to the public relations profession.
