Preparing Your Pyramid Award Submission – What “Good” Looks Like

It’s that time of year again for the Annual PRSA NJ Pyramid Awards to start accepting award nominations. Before you submit, this is your chance to learn from PRSA NJ Members who are intimately familiar with the Awards. Specifically, you’ll glean insights into what a “good” submission looks like to maximize your chances of walking away a winner.

For 2021, there will also be several new Award categories. The competition will be fierce, so your ability to submit a stellar award will be more critical than ever before!

Our Panelists:

Michael Lauer, Founder & CEO, MDL Strategic Communications. Michael is a seasoned communications professional with nearly two decades of experience. He started MDL Strategic Communications to help clients understand and tell their stories of impact.

Prior to MDL Strategic Communications, Michael was a Communications Leader at Johnson & Johnson where he was responsible for developing and executing communication strategies for the Office of the Chief Medical Officer.

 

Shana Walther, Senior Director, Marketing and New Business, Coyne PR. Shana works directly with the executive leadership of the agency on all facets of new business development and agency marketing. She is creative, collaborative, highly motivated and results-oriented with exceptional mentoring, multi-tasking and communications skills.

Shana develops and manages all external marketing materials for the agency including website development, direct mail campaigns, advertising campaigns and promotional materials. In collaboration with the senior leadership of Coyne PR, Shana spearheads all new business efforts and thought leadership content.

 

Deirdre Lopian, Creative Director, Deirdre Lopian Public Relations

Deirdre Lopian is an award-winning social media strategist, public relations and marketing professional. Her passion is helping brands leverage the power inclusive social media marketing by creating campaigns that truly reflect the diverse audience they serve.

She has developed and executed memorable large-scale campaigns and events for iconic brands including: Live Nation, WWE, HBO Sports, UFC, Miss America Organization, Feld Entertainment, and the NHL.

She is an executive board member for the Public Relations Society of America, New Jersey Chapter with current roles as president-elect and communications chair.

 

Giuseppe Barone, Manager, Communications and Public Relations, Institute of Management Accountants. He oversees all global PR activities for the worldwide association of accountants and financial professionals in business.

Prior to joining IMA, Giuseppe spent a decade in MWWPR’s Corporate Communications group, providing daily account support and media relations for business-to-business, professional services, and technology organizations.
