Ken Hunter, APR – President & Chief Strategist, The PowerStation Communications – Membership Chair and “Meet the Media” Event Organizer
PRSA NJ is holding its annual “Meet the Media” panel – Why the Press Isn’t Covering Your Story and What You Can Do to Change This – with reporters, editors, and producers from national and regional media.
Save the date: Thursday, March 30, 2017, from 8 a.m.-10 a.m. at Montclair State University, in Montclair, N.J.
At press time, the event is still being structured and media invites are going out, however this year, the event will include a new twist: A “speed pitching” component where attendees can briefly pitch their story idea one-on-one directly to individual media panelists and get an immediate response.
Speed pitching will be preceded by an interactive panel with reporters, editors, and other journalists to explore:
-The media’s current needs and challenges in the newsroom
-Where they spend their time in story development
-How PR people can truly break through the clutter, connect, and help the press create coverage that works for them
-Challenges the media has in an era of fake news, bias, and alternate facts
Watch www.prsanj.org and your emails for registration details as soon as they are available.
