Well, it’s official: it’s summer. The weather has finally warmed up, the grass and the air are green again (with pollen) and everyone is busy with graduations, proms, and BBQs. And we at PRSA NJ have gone down the chute with our 2015 theme, The Evolution of PR. We certainly didn’t overthink it, but we used your feedback to develop a comprehensive strategic plan, host a variety of successful programs and boost our membership by nearly 15 percent.
We launched 2015 with our kick off dinner in January when we unveiled our plan and program calendar. In February, over 50 attendees braved frigid temperatures and post blizzard conditions for our Integrated Marketing Communications program hosted by Rutgers. Our successful Meet the Media event was hosted at Montclair State in April. On June 17, we’ll honor individuals who have made a significant contribution to our profession at our annual PRSA NJ Pyramid Awards. We thank Vice President, Loren Waldron, of MWW for her work and leadership each year and invite you to join us. In addition to our larger quarterly events, we still offer subgroup meetings (Senior Pros, Small Agency Pros and New Pros) that provide smaller get-togethers.
We welcome our newest Board Member, Ilana Zalika, of Resound Marketing who graciously offered to serve as newsletter editor. She and Digital Chair, Joan Bosisio, of Stern + Associates put this together on down time from their full time jobs. We also give a shout out to our New Pros Chairs, Ashley Duvall of Stern + Associates and Phil Burrows of Verizon.
We’re excited to offer a discounted $25 PRSA NJ membership to recent college grads. We also thank our new sponsors and supporters who make our programs successful.
This July, we’ll cool down and jump off the water slide again as we hold another strategic planning session followed by our program planning meeting in October. So, join us this summer, bring a colleague to one of our programs and send us your ideas so we can continue to serve you.
